Hello everyone,

Sorry for the relative radio silence of late. Our heads are totally lost in making this new record. I thought id post some photos from the last few months. So far we’ve only done a couple of shows this year. We’re booked to play Mallorca Rocks on the 24th July but apart from that we’ll be pretty much working day and night on this record. Tons of songs written already. Cant wait for you all to hear some. Our new studio nearly finished too.

ALBUM 2

We’re making another album as you probably know. Luckily we have some space available to us to build a massive shed and fill with instruments.

At the moment it’s hole in the ground, about to be filled with concrete.

Teenage cancer trust show at the Royal Albert Hall

We will be taking time out of recording the new record to play a one off show for Teenage Cancer Trust later this month on Friday 30th. It’s a charity that this time last year was helping me out quite a bit.

You can grab tickets for the show at the following link: http://bit.ly/z0j5JY

New record is coming along nicely by the way. Wont be long!

Nov/Dec 2011 UK Tour

Adzuki | Maxxi | Mohawke

Ross here,

We’re currently racing around the UK at the moment on tour but we’ve had a day off in Leeds today so I thought, in my normal fashion, id post some new tunes ive been playing.

The first track is from Adzuki Beans and it’s called ‘Hahaha’. Aparently this producer is from Glasgow. Really good vibe.

1. Hahaha by Adzuki Beans

Next is ‘There’s No Love’ by Maxxi Soundsystem. Can only find a clip but it’s definitely worth downloading. I think this tune has a strong groove.

2. ‘There’s No Love’ by Maxxi Soundsystem

B1. There’s No Love by Maxxi Soundsystem

And finally, Hudson Mohawke. The track ive picked is called ‘Overnight’. All the tracks on his recent Satin Panther’s EP are great but I really like this old one from him. I think he uses melodies in an interesting way. He has a great live show which we managed to catch when we were last in New York. Definitely hip hop influenced.

3. ‘Overnight’ by Hudson Mohawke

John Martin: Apocalypse

I haven’t managed to go and check out this exhibition yet but judging on this video it’s going to be pretty Apocalyptic!!!! Showing at the Tate Britain until the 15th of January!!

gq + warsaw

Well, winter is here and on this last European tour we were reminded of ‘the cold’ especially in Warsaw. The kind of bone shattering cold that makes you walk like a penguin. The festival we were playing in Warsaw was actually indoors which is always a good thing in my book. I say in doors, Free Form Festival is basically an abandoned factory, a very large sound system and a waterfall of Grolsh and Bison Vodka. We met some incredible people and were blown away by how much people knew the record. Future Warsaw plans are in motion. The rest of the European tour was incredible too but i will leave that for another post.

So, in light of the winter spirit, here’s our recent shoot with GQ magazine. Weirdly, in an abandoned factory. Unfortunately we retained none of these clothes, which would have been nice for Warsaw.

We also recorded a session for All Saints and GQ in London. Demons below…

lovebirds, giraffes and mehdi

Hey guys,

Ross here, it’s been a while. Need to get better at blogging while touring. Anyways, here’s my next three tunes that ive been listening to quite heavily. We’ve been concentrating on the live show recently so no Djing i’m afraid. We’ll back out soon!

The first record is by Love Birds featuring Stee Downes. It builds nicely throughout the whole track. Pretty progressive.

1. ‘Want you in My Soul’ by Lovebirds ft Stee Downes

Want you in my soul (Original) - Lovebirds feat Stee Downes by Stee Downes

The next record is by some very good friends of mine. They’re called The Giraffe The Pelly And Us and the tune is called ‘The Big Beat’. They also run a club night in Nottingham called House Arrest which is actually on this Saturday. If you’re in Nottingham then you should definitely check it out. You wont be disappointed.  2. ‘The Big Beat’ by The Giraffe The Pelly And Us

It was very sad to hear of the recent death of Mehdi. He was an amazing DJ, producer and one half of one of my favorite DJ duos ‘Carte Blanche’. I thought it was only right to feature one of their many amazing records. This track always sounds great on a big system.

3. Bronx Brooklyn Queens by Carte Blanche
